Dear Vogel?s,
My wife owned an old but inexpensive mahogany framed cheval mirror that has been a part of our furniture for over thirty years. The full-length reflection was good for head-to-toe appreciation of dressing with the usual single-axis swing action. However, and rather inconveniently, the cheval mirror took up valuable space in the corner of a small bedroom. The legs were often kicked and the whole mirror assembly blocked the full opening of an adjacent built-in wardrobe door. Some years ago, having installed a full-motion TV wall mount, we thought a similar mount would be a great solution to keeping the old cheval mirror but keeping it snug to the wall at head and body height while also significantly improving the utility and functionality of the mirror. So, we purchased this Vogel mount for the mirror. The mirror weighed 8 kilograms after the side arms and legs were removed. We found the ?sweet spot? for centering the mount by marking up the central vertical axis and then balancing the mirror across a large foam tube to find the horizontal axis. And ? it works brilliantly! Stored flat against the wall, the mirror projects only 10cm from the wall (tucked well away), whereas before the legs were at least 45 cm from the skirting board. The mirror can be adjusted with two fingers, really easily. There are now two more axes of rotation in addition to the traditional up and down (vertical) swing. And, as a further advantage, the mirror can be used to reflect into any other additional mirror in the room to provide a a rear view, too.
Well, needless to say, the mount has worked brilliantly for us, even though we have used it for something other than a TV. We thought we?d like to share this experience with you.
Many thanks for a great product. Much appreciated!
